Summer's Favorite Drink: Cold Coffee Recipes

With the warming of the weather, the transition to cold drinks has begun. Cold coffee, the indispensable refreshing drink of the spring, is among the favorites of coffee lovers. With its flavor and refreshing effect, cold coffees energize us in hot weather and help us start the day more energetic.

Cold coffees are a good alternative for every time of the day and every meal, whether it's with breakfast in the morning, in the afternoon when you crave it, or with dessert after dinner.  In the rest of our content, we present delicious cold coffee recipes that you can easily prepare at home. Affogato

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso (or 2 tablespoons of very strong coffee)
  • 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate sauce (optional)

Preparation:

  • Pour a shot of espresso or 2 tablespoons of very strong coffee into your cup.
  • Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Optionally, you can sweeten the chocolate sauce by pouring it over the ice cream or espresso.
  • The hot espresso, combined with the vanilla ice cream, melts quickly and makes a delicious dessert.

When preparing this delicious coffee, you can substitute different cold ingredients for the ice cream, depending on your preference. You can also use different ingredients such as chocolate chips, almonds or hazelnuts to add different flavors to the affogato. Although it's a very simple dessert, affogato is a must for coffee lovers.

Cold Brew

Ingredients:

  • 120 g coffee (about 1 cup of coffee ground to a suitable thickness)
  • 1 liter of cold water (about 4 glasses)
  • A large glass jar

Preparation:

  • Pour the ground coffee into the glass jar.
  • Add 4 glasses of cold water to the jar.
  • Close the jar tightly and shake the mixture.
  • Place the jar in the refrigerator and allow the coffee and water mixture to mix together for 12-24 hours.
  • When you think the coffee and water mixture is ready, strain it from the jar and pass it through a filter.
  • Optionally, pour the filtered coffee and water mixture into a carafe or bottle and serve with ice.

Cold brew has a milder flavor due to its lower acid level than regular coffee brewing methods. Cold brew can also be combined with milk or sweeteners, making it perfect for cooling down during the hot summer months.

Frappe

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened chocolate powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated coffee
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Preparation:

  • Blend water, sugar, coffee and optionally 2 tablespoons of sugar-free chocolate powder in a blender until creamy.
  • Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the blender and blend again.
  • Pour your frappe into the glass and add the cold milk.
  • Serve with cream or chocolate sauce.

Frappe is a type of cold coffee that first appeared in Greece. You can adjust the amount of ingredients in the recipe according to your taste and get different flavors. You can garnish the frappe with different ingredients such as chocolate sauce or caramel sauce before serving.

Dalgona Coffee

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons granulated coffee
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • 200 ml milk (about 1 cup)
  • Ice (optional)

Preparation:

  • Put the granulated coffee, granulated sugar and hot water in a mixing bowl.
  • Using a hand mixer or whisk, whisk the ingredients for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Whisk until the color of the mixture changes from pale brown to slightly yellow. At this stage, the consistency of the mixture will thicken slightly and bubbles will form.
  • Pour the milk into a glass and optionally top with ice.
  • Pour the mixture over the glass. You can use ingredients such as grated chocolate or cinnamon to garnish the top when serving.

You can easily prepare dalgona coffee, one of the popular cold coffees of recent times, at home. You can adjust the sugar according to your taste and use almond milk or coconut milk instead of milk. The consistency of dalgona coffee may vary depending on the whipping time and the ratio of coffee, sugar and water. If the consistency is not to your liking, you can whisk a little more or add less mixture.

Cold Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup filter coffee or espresso
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • Milk or cream (optional)
  • Ice

Preparation:

  • When the filter coffee or espresso coffee is hot, add sugar or sweetener and stir. You can skip this step if you want a stronger coffee.
  • Put the mixture in the refrigerator to cool and let it chill.
  • Before serving the cold coffee, put a few ice cubes in the glass.
  • Then pour it into the glass. If you wish, you can add milk or cream to get a soft drink.

Cold coffee, which is very simple to make, can be enriched with different ingredients according to your wishes. You can also freeze cold coffee in the freezer to make coffee jelly or ice cream.

Frappuccino

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon granulated coffee
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or sweetener (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate sauce (optional)
  • Cream (optional)

Preparation:

  • Make the granulated coffee and leave to cool.
  • In a large glass, combine the milk, sugar or sweetener and ice cubes.
  • Add the coffee and chocolate sauce and mix all the ingredients together.
  • Top the frappuccino with the cream (optional) and serve with more ice.

You can make the chocolate sauce at home or use a ready-made chocolate sauce, or use different sauces such as caramel. Coffee Milkshake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 tablespoon liquid sweetener (you can use honey, maple syrup or agave nectar)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coffee
  • Chocolate sauce (optional)
  • Cream (optional)

Preparation:

  • Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix.
  • Blend until the mixture has a creamy consistency.
  • Add the chocolate sauce and cream to the coffee milkshake.
  • Serve with more ice.

Made with very few ingredients, coffee milkshake is a drink that can accompany pleasant moments at any time of the day. You can increase the amount of ice cream to get a thicker consistency. Optionally, you can add chocolate sauce and cream on top.

Latte

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 cup cold coffee
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or liquid sweetener (optional)
  • Ice
  • Cream (optional)

Preparation:

  • Pour the cold milk into a glass.
  • Pour the cold coffee over the milk.
  • Add the sugar or liquid sweetener and stir.
  • Optionally, you can add cream on top.
  • Serve with ice.

Cold latte, the favorite drink of hot weather, is indispensable for coffee lovers. You can cool off by enjoying the morning sun with latte, which you can prepare at home with the few ingredients used and easy to make.

Caramel Macchiato

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup iced espresso
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Preparation:

  • Add the cold milk and caramel sauce to a glass and stir.
  • Top with the iced espresso.
  • Optionally, you can add whipped cream on top.
  • Serve garnished with caramel sauce.
